Specific Responsibilities: This is an TS field position that is in our PAH Division covering the Boise, ID territory.
Essential Duties and Job Functions: * Responsible for access, development and management of the business relationship with assigned key institutions and opinion leaders.

* Focus on maintaining an open dialogue with influential thought leaders within key institutions.

* Primary responsibility for planning and implementing speaker programs and educational opportunities for key institutional account targets to ensure uptake of Gilead Cardiopulmonary products.

* Presenting to fellows and residents within medical institutions as appropriate.

* Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet their key institutional customer needs and achieve business goals.

* Generate and grow sales and consistently achieve and/or exceed sales targets for key institutions within a specific geographic area.

* Engage in knowledge exchange between institutions, Key Opinion Leaders and Therapeutic Specialists within a given geography.

* Must understand and help to coordinate and resolve product access/reimbursement issues or issues with local specialty pharmacies.

* Must have a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in their therapeutic area, and an in depth knowledge of the complexities associated with the disease state.

* Actively promotes the appropriate use of Gilead products to key accounts in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA and OIG guidelines.

* Demonstrates leadership among peers by consistent application and modeling of the appropriate compliance, behavior and conduct. Strict compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal law is required.

* Works cooperatively with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Specialists, Marketing and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific accounts or institutions. May also work in collaboration with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.

* Assists in the identification and resolution of issues, opportunities and competitive activities to appropriate members of marketing and/or sales management.

* Reports adverse events to Gilead’s Drug Safety and Public Health department and other internal departments as per required guidelines.

* Performs all administrative functions required of the position, including reporting call activity and customer information into the appropriate call reporting system in a timely manner, submitting expenses, etc.

* May require up to 50% overnight travel.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Possess superior selling and influence skills honed in highly competitive markets.

* Proven ability to effectively establish and manage/leverage customer relationships

* Aptitude for rapid learning and retention of technical and scientific product related information

* Ability to grasp complex reimbursement and/or distribution processes

* Ability to interact and partner with organizations that impact/influence the prescribing process (e.g. Specialty Pharmacies) and help resolve product access issues

* Superior oral and written communication skills

* Must be self-motivated and able to work with a general level of autonomy with ability to partner where appropriate.

Typically requires a BA or BS degree

* A minimum of 6 - 8 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience with relevant experience selling in an institutional environment

* Proven and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets

Preferred Experience:

* Cardio Pulmonary therapeutic area sales experience highly preferable

* Established relationships with Cardiologists and Pulmonologists in targeted geographical area strongly preferred

* Prior institutional sales experience within cardiopulmonary strongly preferred

* Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment
