In the role of Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:
- Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management and project budgeting, as well as assistance on coding and processing A/P, time sheets, and expense reports.
- Manage, administer, and maintain accurate contract documentation, including entry of fee and budget.
- Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues.
- Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Perform research and provide necessary data for Project Manager, Area Manager and others regarding project financial status, which includes funding/budget, staffing requirements and accounts receivable.
- Attend project meetings including 0% reviews, Project reviews, and adhoc project discussions. Share financial position information at the reviews.
- Assist project managers to monitor the financial health of their projects including forecasting cost at completion estimates and planned versus actual budget analysis.
- Request and assist PM in entering percent completes to monitor project progress.
- Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- Previous employment with an engineering firm is highly desirable
